Went into camp on Taylor's farm, about a mile west of the city,
and Col. Upton has christened it Camp Hicks, in honor of Gov. Hicks, the present
loyal governor of Maryland. The 51st New York is encamped near by us, and that
regiment, with the 21st Massachusetts, were the only troops here before us.
