Thirteen miles south of Laurenceville, Va.,
May 4, 1865.
Our regiment
in advance of the division crossed the Roanoke at 3:30 p. m. and went into camp
here at sunset, making 13 miles. We crossed the N. C. and Va. line about three
miles this side of the river. Good country, and people all out gazing.
