Diary of Private Louis Leon: June 6, 1863

Marched five miles and halted for the day. June 7-Left at 5 A.M., got to Culpepper Court House 3 P.M., and marched four miles on the east side of town. Twenty miles to-day. We waded Rapidan River, which is forty yards wide, two feet deep and very swift.
