This morning, as
Mrs. Lincoln was passing in her carriage in the vicinity of Mount Pleasant
Hospital, the driver was accidentally thrown to the ground; and the horses left
without a managing hand, dashed off at full speed. Mrs. Lincoln ventured to
Jump out. This act resulted in the infliction of several severe bruises,
especially a painful contusion on the back of the head. Surgical skill was
speedily administered to her injuries, and she returned home.
