Diary of Edward Bates, July 14, 1859

Full moon last night — Good hope of rain for two days past — The Rain-Crows (or Cookoos) are croaking loudly this morning.

Jennie and Nelly Woodson still here — Kate Wilson came home with them last night [.]

We have workmen making sundry repairs about the house and outhouse— My contract is with George Full (a jobber) apparently a very respectable Englishman — a friend of Robt. Baker.

Note. Pd. Mr. Full, yesterday, $100, on a/c[.]
