Diary of George Templeton Strong, November 24, 1860

Stocks all up today and Wall Street very jolly. But they will go lower yet, and Wall Street will look more blue than it has looked these thirty years before a.d. 1860 is ended.

Dr. Peters, and George Anthon, and Charley Peters dined here. After dinner with Ellie and George Anthon to Academy of Music on Robert Cutting’s invitation to the rehearsal of La Juive Stigelli, Fabbri, Anna Bishop, Formes, and others. A pleasant and sunny evening. Opera in dishabille, and a splendid revelation of Bohemia.
