Got our line established about 10 o'clock last night; rained
hard; got very wet; day has passed quietly; moved our skirmish line about fifty
yards to the front this forenoon. The enemy appeared on the left of our
division about dark and commenced skirmishing, but all's quiet at 9 o'clock p.
m. Dr. Clark has been down to see us this afternoon. He's always welcome. It's
cloudy and cool; will probably rain before morning.
