WASHINGTON, March 11. – By an arrival at the Navy Yard
to-day it is ascertained that the rebel batteries were evacuated at Aquia creek
yesterday morning; whether permanently or not we have no means of ascertaining.
Gen. Fremont will return to Washington either this evening
or to-morrow morning.
Repairs have already been commenced at Bull Run and the
probability is the railroad to Manassas will be in running order this week.
