Left Alcorns at 8 A. M. one man hurt by falling limb. took
on logs to protect boilers from canon shot. mustered again today. Went on shore
in yawl at night to do some cooking. A powerful and sudden blast of wind
blowing the tops off of the dead trees. some rain & clear after dark and
beautiful moonlight. At one place where we stopped took on a lot of house logs
to build a protection for boilers.
