Took Thanksgiving
dinner with Judge James at the Metropolitan Club. Governor Boutwell, a bright,
pleasant-looking man, reminding me of Waite of Toledo. Cozzens of Yonkers,
author of ["The
Sparrowgrass Papers"], is a good story-teller, has a fine memory, but
is easily overreached by his wine.
