COLUMBUS, March 1, 1870.
DEAR UNCLE:— I
handed your note to John Deshler this morning with your old question, "Can
you read fine hand?" He said, "Oh yes, I can read this, and I shall
be very happy to do it both for your sake and Mr. Birchard's. My father always
said Sardis Birchard is one of my best friends and one of the best men in Ohio.
I always told him he would get married if it wasn't for that fine
breastpin." So that matter is settled.
All well. Nothing
new.
