Chester.—I have
borne the journey thus far well, and as the railroad stops here, the rest
having been destroyed by Sherman's army, we will travel the remainder of the
journey in a government train of wagons. Many, many friends have we encountered
here, trying, like ourselves, to get back home. Lise's brother is to go in our
party, and Mr. West.
