WASHINGTON, Jan. 24. – HOUSE. – The House considered the
Senate amendments to the diplomatic appropriation bill and [then] concurred in
those including Florence among Consul Generalships, and striking out Hayti,
Liberia &c. The bill will be returned
to the Senate. House adjourned.
SENATE. – The Bright expulsion case was continued. Several Senators speaking for and against
expulsion. The subject was
concluded. After Executive session, the
Senate adjourned till Monday.
