There are rumors of Abolition gun-boats in the York and
James Rivers. A battery of long range guns was sent down yesterday.
It is said that an army of raw Abolitionists, under Sigel,
has marched from Alexandria toward Culpepper County. If this be so, we shall
soon have more fighting, and more running, I hope. Lee keeps his own counsel — wisely.
