Organized at Cleveland, Ohio, and mustered in September 10, 1861. Moved to Camp Dennison, Ohio, January 1, 1862, and to St. Louis, Mo., February 9; thence to Cairo, Ill., and to Paducah, Ky., February 13. Attached to 1st Brigade, 4th Division, Army of the Tennessee to April, 1862. Artillery, 1st Division, Army of the Tennessee, to July, 1862. Artillery, 1st Division, District of Jackson, Tenn., to November, 1862. Artillery, District of Jackson, Tenn., 13th Army Corps (Old), Dept. of the Tennessee, to December, 1862. Battery lost during service 11 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 1 Officer and 37 Enlisted men by disease. Total 49.
