Astronomical Observations

Professor Mitchell was once made famous in the scientific world by his discovery of a method of observing right ascensions and north declinations. He seems to be still practicing his scientific theories. His “observations” in Alabama show the rebels that a sword is as handy to him as a telescope, and that he can make right ascensions without an observatory, and northern declinations without a parallax. – {N.
