CoL. DAVIS
with Sixth Regiment arrived at Baltimore this morning and were fired upon —
great excitement. Secessionists reported very strong, no reliable details.
Railroad will not transport more troops until definite intelligence obtained
and prospect of safe transportation — mob threatened their Buildings if they do
– have got quarters for troops to-night.
