Quite comfortable all day. Colonel W. W. Henry's resignation
came back last night accepted; will leave at 7.40 o'clock a. m. to-morrow;
officers gave him a farewell supper to-night. Captain G. B. Damon comes back to
the regiment to-night from the division staff. I have been recommended for the
Captaincy of Company G overslaughing several other officers, provided he is
made Major; all's quiet.
