LEXINGTON, December 4, 1848.
DEAR SIR,—I hope you
will accept this head I send you, which I have finished entirely with my own
hands; and also another, which I will finish in a day or two, as a small token
of the gratitude and obligation I feel toward yourself and family, who have
extended to me so much kindness.
I will call out to
see you this evening or to-morrow. With my earnest wishes for your recovery, I
am, etc.
