The course recently adopted by the authorities here, in reference to Southern newspapers frequently received by flags of truce, deprive the public of news which is often of considerable importance, and always of the greatest interest. Until within a short time there has been no obstacle in the way of obtaining such papers for the use of the northern press. But at the present some are allowed to be received, and those which find their way to headquarters are not allowed to be seen by correspondents.
