It is with sorry we learn, from a member of Mr. Whittlesey’s
family, that that gentleman, chaplain of the 11th Iowa regiment, is now lying
sick at his home in Durant, Cedar county, of typhoid fever and pneumonia, worn
out by the care of so many wounded men.
We hope his recovery may be speedy.
