Mobile, Ala., June 7, 1865.
My Dear Wife:
My time is much occupied. Judge Chase has just left us, and
to-day we have the famous Phil. Sheridan. I have been going about with him all
day, and entertained General Price of his suite at dinner. The weather is intensely
hot, but my health is at least as good as usual, that is not saying much for
me.
