. . . and the dimes to come hard with some, but still the newspaper is an article of necessity and just now preferred by many to their breakfasts. We never have had cause to complain of subscribers to our Daily delivered in the city, but in behalf of our carriers would say, that if citizens would take a little more precaution on collection day to have a loose quarter by them, they would save the aforesaid carriers considerable wear of shoe leather. The fact of it is, so little is made on each paper furnished that carriers cannot afford to call more than once on a subscriber, particularly if he [lives] out of the way.
