The Board of Supervisors of this county have made a contract with the American Emigrant Company to dispose of their swamp lands, 25,000 acres in all, for $4,000. The contract is subject to the ratification of the people of the county. It seems like a very small sum of money for so much land, and he project is likely to meet with desperate opposition at the polls.
