. . . went to New York last fall, and was fleeced out of $1100 by
gamblers, while intoxicated. They
refused to make him any restitution, and he swore to have revenge. He went home, supplied himself with funds,
went back to New York, and during the winter, with the aid of the police he has
broken up between thirty and forty gambling halls. He is still engaged in the good work.
