The Parish Visitor records the fact, that, in every modern
battle which has been fought on Sunday, the attacking party has not only been
defeated, but generally disgracefully routed and panic stricken, without any
apparent cause. The following are instances:
Perry’s victory on Lake Erie, McDonough’s victory on Lake Champlain, the battle
of New Orleans, the battle of Waterloo, the battle of Bull Run, and the Battle
of Mill Spring.
