very glad to hear that Bob Shaw is to be Colonel, and Norwood Hallowell
Lieutenant-Colonel of the Governor's Negro Regiment. It is very important that it
should be started soberly and not spoilt by too much fanaticism. Bob Shaw is
not a fanatic.
