A fair day. Lieutenant H. W. Kingsley ate supper with us. He
brought up three days' rations. Pert writes she is having a fine time in East
Boylston, Mass. teaching. She sent me a letter from Cousin Byron Bradley.
Cousin Abby Pierce is coming East this fall. I have finished reading East
Lynne; it's a fine story.
