Sherman coming this way, so said, towards Atlanta. It is
thought the cavalry will make a break for us, but even if they do they cannot
get us north. We are equal to no exertion. Men busy to day killing swallows
that fly low; partly for amusement, but more particularly for food they
furnish. Are eaten raw before hardly dead. No, thank you, I will take no
swallow.
