We are all excited by the news that came yesterday. Owing to
the weather or fear of the trains being taken, we have had no mails from
Richmond until yesterday and then only a stray paper, but that tells us there
has been another battle. Your father does not think that Halsey was in it — but
I can't help feeling anxious till I hear more about it.
