Welcome to this, my blog about the American Civil war. Please let me preface this blog by stating that I am not an historian, nor am I a scholar... I am just someone who has had an interest in the American Civil War from a very early age. When I moved from my home state of Iowa to Murfreesboro, Tennessee in 2003 my interest developed further and I began to really read about the war and visit many of the Civil War battlefields and sites of interest. The more I study about the war and its particpants the more I want to learn. What good is learning about something if you can't share it? So here, I have decided to post what I have studied and learned and observed, to share it with whom ever should have patience enough with me to read what I have written.
