It was chilly and foggy this morning, but it cleared about 9
o'clock a. m. Skirmishing still continues on the pike and on the left of the
line. It's rumored the Nineteenth Corps charged the enemy this morning driving
it back in confusion. The Tenth Vermont moved to the right this forenoon giving
room for a battery on our left. Our forces have thrown up breastworks, but I
don't anticipate any attack.
