My dear Lusk:
Yours was received this morning. I spread myself on the
subject of unrequited merit accordingly and went in person to the War
Department. Asst. Secy. Watson promised to let me have it to-morrow, but as you
are impatient I write to-night. Of course it must receive the approbation of
Stanton also, but altogether you have good reason to hope.
