Senator Daniel Webster to Fletcher Webster, Wednesday, April 24, 1850—10 a.m.

In the Senate, Wednesday, ten o'clock. April, 1850.

MY DEAR SON,—I was glad to receive your letter this morning, and to learn the health of yourself and family. I hardly knew what had become of you. I should be glad to hear from you every day. Any thing from home seems a solace, among letters of business and letters of politics. Let me or Mrs. Webster hear from some of you every day.

I shall hardly get to Virginia, except so far as to Harper's Ferry, perhaps.

Yours truly,
D. W.
