Went with Governor
Robinson and Senator Henry Wilson to a private meeting of about twenty Kansas
men to decide what shall be done if Buchanan is elected. Rev. Mr. Higginson
advocated resistance to the government. Mr. Wilson spoke against that doctrine
very decidedly: so did I.
